Necessary Lesson Materials
FAQ
What kind of benefits do private lessons have?
Private lessons are the most efficient way to advance in your musical ability and creativity. Lessons involve one-on-one time with a teacher, allowing them to focus solely on your playing and helping you achieve your musical goals. Private lessons also focus on improving practice technique, understanding of music theory, time management, and any other skill involved in great music-making. These skills often help students become successful in many other facets of their life. Private lessons are a great way to get your student involved in school, or better your own work ethic!
Do you offer lessons in person or online?
I currently only teach lessons in-person at either Downers Grove South High School or Central Middle School in Tinley Park. If these locations do not work for you, please still reach out and we can see about another location!
What materials do I need before I start lessons?
You will need a notebook and pencil for taking notes, as well as a clarinet, ligature, box of reeds, clarinet case, reed case, and swab. All of my recommended materials can be found in the Private Lesson Information Packet above. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me!
How can I schedule a lesson?
Please e-mail me at samanthawinklerclarinet@gmail.com, or fill out the form in my Contact page. Let me know how long you would like as well as your availability, and I would be happy to schedule a lesson with you!
Can parents attend lessons?
Absolutely! Parents are always welcome to observe lessons with their child.
How much are lessons?
Lessons are $25 for 30 minutes and $45 for an hour. These amounts can be paid through Venmo, PayPal, Zelle, cash, or check. Lessons can be paid monthly, weekly, bi-weekly, or in any way that works for you.
